8th Annual Fall Finale » 1980 PORSCHE 924 TURBO
1980 PORSCHE 924 TURBO
This local Alberta 1980 Porsche 924 turbo is in outstanding condition and appears to be all original right down to the radio ! While it entered production in 1979, the 1980 model year was the first full year for the 924 Turbo--which wore the internal model code 931, a nod to its close relation to Porsche's first road-going turbo variant, the 930. This car is a "series 1" Turbo in fantastic original condition and has very low mileage. The two-tone paint, available in 1980 and '81 is just the beginning; it was built with a limited-slip differential, leather upholstery, air conditioning, power windows, a lift-out sunroof and the coveted M471 "S" Sport Group Package, which included four-wheel internally ventilated disc brakes on five-bolt hubs, mounting forged 16 x 6-inch 928-style alloys (up from cast 15 x 6s). Also included were upgraded springs and Koni shocks, 23mm front and 14mm rear anti-roll bars, a different steering ratio and a leather-wrapped 911SC steering wheel. These special suspension components meshed with the 924's standard lower A-arm and MacPherson strut front and semi-trailing arm and torsion bar rear suspension, as well as the car's trademark rear-mounted transaxle, adds layers of capability to the standard car's brilliant, inherently neutral handling. And Porsche engineers had built that additional capability into the car to cope with and to exploit the extra oomph that the turbocharged, water-cooled four-cylinder engine brought.
Collector Porsches are going through the roof and this 924 Turbo is already considered a future collectible buy now before you can't afford one !
